Southern Tagalog youth stage 'SOYA' as prelude to SONA

Youth activists from the Southern Tagalog region trooped on Friday to three locations — the House of Representatives, the Commission on Higher Education, and Mendiola— to stage the so-called State of the Youth Address (SOYA).

The SOYA is the culmination of a series of protest actions for education which kicked off with a mass walkout by 1,000 students on July 16, in advance of the July 26 State of the Nation Address (SONA) of the President.

A college friend, Sylvia, remembers Loida as the one in their group prone to lyrical flights, who "... distinguished herself with measured words and empathic gestures swinging 45 degrees forward." She was focused to distinguish herself in the legal profession, or perhaps even enter politics.

So, why did Sylvia titled her reminiscence, "The radical philanthropist"?

Journalists, UP students to help seek justice for massacre victims

We will not let go.

This was the resounding sentiment of journalists at last week’s forum on the November 23 massacre dubbed “‘Wag Bibitiw sa Maguindanao 57" held at the UP College of Mass Communication Auditorium.
