Photographs and Video from Neon Rossell II

Neon Rosell most likely has the largest number of images of birds of the Philippines among  Filipino photographers contributing to Flickr.  His  are not only very stunning but also very informative. Neon not only includes the common name but also the scientific name of the each bird, well, in most of the images.

Here we present his bird images taken by Neon in Baler, Aurora and along the and along the Bongabong-Baler Highway. [His other sets will be featured in the future.]

What I find most informative about his collection of Philippines birds is that most of the images were taken at the actual habitat.  This is very critical because the Philippines is losing at an alarming rate many of its forests, land and water habitats because of explosive population growth.

"The Whiskered Treeswift (Hemiprocne comata) is a species of bird in the Hemiprocnidae family. It is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests." -stub of Whiskered Treeswift from Wikipedia.
